15 Oct 16:  HandsOn Day with Crater Community Hospice (Petersburg)
Crater Community Hospice is participating in HandsOn Day with a garden project in their Memorial Garden.  Volunteers are needed to plant flowers, trim shrubs and grasses, rake and clean, etc.  Volunteering will go from 0900-1300.  Sign up online athandsonrva.org under 'Blooms of Joy' or contact POC Teresa Brockwell at 804-526-4300 or [email protected].

15 Oct 16:  Farmer's Market (Hopewell)
The City of Hopewell Farmer's Market needs help in setting up and tearing down their tents and supplies each Saturday through the end of October.  Set up is from 1300-1400 and tear down is from 1700-1800.  The market takes place on Appomattox Street, across from the historic Beacon Theatre.  The POC is Ms. Mary Elder at [email protected] or 804-458-1818.

15 Oct 16:  YMCA Swim Meet (Chester)
Volunteers are needed to serve as timers at the swim meet.  Start time is 1400 and end time is no later than 2000.  Approximately 20 volunteers are needed at this meet.  POC is Liz Sawyer, Senior Program Director, at 804-733-9333.

20 Oct 16:  VSU Concert - Kirk Franklin (Petersburg)
Virginia State University is seeking volunteers to assist with manning concession stands for four hours starting at 1700.  Each volunteer is provided a sandwich and beverage during their shift.  POC is Sharon Williams at 804-524-3247 or[email protected].

21 Oct 16:  Crenshaw Elementary Fall Festival (Chesterfield)
The PTA at Crenshaw Elementary in Chesterfield is hosting their annual Fall Festival on October 21, 2016, from 1800-2100.  Volunteers are needed to assist with set up (beginning at 1630), running games, manning the prize table, hayrides, and taking down the festival.  POC for the event is Ms. Kellie Seay at (804) 922-3925 or [email protected].

22 Oct 16:  National Make a Difference Day (Richmond)

22 Oct 16:  National Kidney Foundation Walk (Glen Allen)

26 Oct 16:  Feed the Hungry Voucher Program (Dinwiddie)
Volunteers will unload, package and distribute food at the Annex behind the Southside High School Education Center (the old Middle School) in Dinwiddie for 150 families.  At 1000 the delivered food will be pulled from a freezer truck and broken down into family size boxes, then handed out to local families registered for assistance from 1100-1200. Cleanup is done by 1330.  POC is Ms. Sarajayne Andrews at (c)804-721-1040 or [email protected].  The HS Education Center is located at 12318 Boydton Plank Road (Route 1), Dinwiddie, VA  23841.

The Dinwiddie Chamber of Commerce is seeking assistance with their Dinwiddie County Christmas Parade route.  Volunteers are needed from 0800-1300 to assist with traffic control, lining up the parade, parking floats, etc.  POC is Ms. Joy Marshall at 804-539-4612 or [email protected].
